Closed, ArchivedPublic

Description

Operating system Windows 10
Graphics Card Nvidia RSX 2070 8 Gb
Memory 64 Gb
Processor Intel I9 3.4 Ghz

Problem:
Blender version 2.83a and version 2.90a do show the Guides Floor in the X-Y-Z axes partially.
Blender version 2.82a shows the Guides Floor in the X-Y-Z axes correct.

See attached two png files.

Are you able to provide exact steps to reproduce the error or provide a .blend file?

However from quickly playing around with some stuff on my own computer, I believe what you're talking about was an intentional change as it seems whatever's going on with the grid in 2.83 and 2.90 heavily reduces graphical glitches which could be considered a bug in Blender 2.82.

Probably related to rBd0ff3434cff

The grid has a slight bias now so that it's not drawn on top of objects, like flat planes, centered at the origin. The original fix mentions wireframe objects only so not sure if it should apply to solid shaded objects too or not.

The steps I have performed are as follows.

  1. First loaded the blend file (which I have attached)
  2. then open the Viewport Overlays menu
  3. Under guides selected Floor
  4. Under Axes selected X - Y - Z

I'm closing this report as "Invalid" based on this comment by @Clément Foucault (fclem) in rBd0ff3434cff

Add a small bias so the grid will always be below of a mesh with the same depth.
