Closed, ArchivedPublic

Description

System Information
Operating system: Linux Mint 19.3
Graphics card: Nvidia GTX1080

Blender Version
Broken: (example: 2.80, edbf15d3c044, master, 2018-11-28, as found on the splash screen)
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)
2.83
The bug was existing in 2.82

Short description of error
When trying to spin the face of a cube (top view), with a mirror modifier (clipping selected), vertices go through the mirrored object and don't clip.
You have to stop the spin before it reaches the Y axis and then use G to clip the vertices.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Open attached file
  • Perform spin in a way that exceeds the clipping limit

Event Timeline

Thanks for the report.

While looking strange, mirror clipping is a parameter that affects transform operators (translate, rotate, resize, shear, bend...).
Spin is not a transform operator.

Hi and thanks for the answer.
Should we consider that clipping with Spin with never be available ?

Best regards,

Lionel
