Enhancement / fix of ambient lighting: "Pyranometer ambient lighting model" suggestion
Closed, ArchivedPublic

Description

Dear Blender 2.83 Representative:

As with earlier Blender versions, traditional ambient lighting loses all detail when lighting is limited to a "hemispherical cloudy sky." We get a uniform shade of grey on objects such as a sphere.

Please see the attached brief presentation fixing the problem when the scene is limited to cloudy-day hemispherical sky lighting

The bug tracker is unfortunately not the right place for improvement suggestions. For feature requests please create a post on right-click select. If you would like to implement this yourself, then you could also create a post on devtalk that explains your idea.

A new sky texture based on the Nishita sky model will be available in future versions of Blender (see D7896).
