Short description of error
Manipulating the values in ‘3d viewn-paneldimensions:' with ‘alt-key’ held down and dragging the mouse cursor will no-longer affect all the selected objects, only the parent.
(feature still present for 'Location', 'Rotation', 'Scale'.)

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Duplicate the default cube and move it so both cubes are visible.
  2. select both cubes and go to ‘3d viewn-panelDimensions:'
  3. With both cubes selected, hold down the alt-key and start manipulate the value by dragging your cursor in one of the three fields for 'Dimensions'

PS. feature did not have the same affect as just scaling the objects, (see animated gif bellow)

@Campbell Barton (campbellbarton) Since I'm working on these dimensions buttons in D8681 anyway, do you see a way to make them work for multiple objects? Since they're not RNA buttons I would probably doubt it, but maybe that functionality is available.

If not, I will classify this as a known issue.

@Hans Goudey (HooglyBoogly) I don't think there is a straightforward solution here, we could set the RNA pointer+property which can work on a basic level. Then we run into the bugs we had when this used to b RNA, where setting multiple values at once failed.

@Campbell Barton (campbellbarton) Okay, that's what I figured, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything. Seems fine to keep this as a known issue then.
