Broken: version: 2.83.3, branch: master, commit date: 2020-07-22 06:01, hash: rB353e5bd7493e

Short description of error
if you scale UV island by zero, that island is not shown in image editor while in paint mode with "Display Texture Paint UVs" enabled

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Assign any material with image texture to default cube
  • scale one of the faces' UV by zero.
  • enter paint mode in image editor and enable "Display Texture Paint UVs"

That zero-surface-area face is now invisible in image editor despite being visible in UV editor. I think there just should be a special case for zero-surface-area faces to be displayed as dots with this overlay enabled. It is very difficult to mix flat-colored/swatch-colored texturing and regular texture painting as I do it very often
