Short description of error
Display issue of the Optimal Display option in Subdivision Modifier after converting to Mesh

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Add a Mesh -> Hit CTRL+2 -> Go to Object -> Convert to Mesh/Meta/Surf/Text

I am not quite sure how this bug is exhibited - is it visual glitch? I have tried your steps on default cube or monkey, but I don't see anything out of ordinary. Can you upload example file that demonstrates this bug?

Add a Mesh

How would converting mesh to mesh affect anything ?
I couldn't redo any "Wireframe of Optimal Display" issue on rBe56ff76db5b44ae6784a2
Closing due to inactivity for over a week.

This is actually same issue as in T77449. This change in behavior was intentional.
