Short description of error
Mask Extract doesn't do anything when multires modifier is active.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Enter sculpt mode.
  • Add multires to an object.
  • Mask out an area.
  • Use 'Mask Extract'.

This is actually a limitation of the current design that can't be fixed. In order to implement mask extraction for multires this design task needs to be finished first T80609
