My ALL Add-ons gone! thanks for 2.90 update

Event Timeline

In your first 2.9 start you have to clic on: Import 2.83 settings (left bottom corner). Start again a new file, Load Factory Settings in File>Defaults, and see it that option does show again in the splash screen.

The add-ons have proberly disappeared because you upgraded Blender from an old version (2.83.5) to a new one (2.90.0). When this happens, by default Blender will "load factory settings" meaning none of the add-ons and settings you changed in that older version of Blender will be applied. To resolve this, as @Aranzazu Hurtado (zutxita) suggested, make sure you click on the "Load Previous Blender Version settings" button when you first open the new version of Blender.

I assume you've already opened Blender 2.90 and partially set it up. As a result, you will probably have a hard time navigating back to the "Load Previous Blender Version settings" button (I'm personally unsure how to navigate there). The easiest way I've found to work around this is by resetting Blender 2.90 so it thinks you're opening Blender for the first time again.

  1. Close Blender if you have it open.
  2. Navigate to the folder C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\ and delete the folder named "2.90".
  3. Open Blender 2.90 and wait until the initial setup screen appears.
  4. Click on the "Load 2.83 settings" button.
