Graphics card: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT OpenGL Engine ATI Technologies Inc. 4.1 ATI-3.10.16

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.90.0, branch: master, commit date: 2020-08-31 11:26, hash: rB0330d1af29c0
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
When trying to do a material preview, cursor becomes jumpy, eGPU & graphics card fan spin up, whole computer crashes.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Working on model, and try to see how lighting is working, try to do a preview, and whole computer crashes, equivalent to a kernel panic.
There are NO external textures on the attached .blend file. It keeps crashing. Please assist and/or fix.

Is this issue still a problem with the latest Alpha or Beta from https://builder.blender.org/download/ ?
