Re-opening to let someone sign this off

I do not think that "Empty Modifier" is a good name as you said it is confusing with empty objects. What about "Node Tree Modifier" or "Node Group Modifier"?
This removes the ambiguity of referencing a single node and is more descriptive and reflects its purpose:

"The Node Tree Modifier is used to select a geometry node group, which applies a series of geometry deformations to the mesh"

@Aaron Carlisle (Blendify) We've gotten lots of similar feedback from all over. Some people even think it's a bug. Personally I agree too. "Empty" is only accurate right when you add the modifier, after that it it's not empty anymore.
