inset face bug

Operating system: windows 10
Graphics card: 1050ti

Blender Version
Broken: 2.92 alpha, 2.91

Short description of error
the outset operation in inset faces is giving depth to the mesh instead of outseting the face when giving thickness value ( showing in image 1)

the operation is working properly if executed after an inset operation ( showing in image 2)

Thanks for the report, but unfortunately I did not understand the steps to reproduce the problem :\

But don't you have to run it at least once to change the properties in the Redo Panel?

this is the problem. the face is suppose to outset but it is working wrongly


this is the situation when the operation is working properly. were you can see i inseted a face and iam able to outset the previously inseted face without any problem

Thanks for the report, but it's not a bug. The Outset option inserts faces into the selection's suround geometry:

In each case the geometry around the selection is different.

ok thank you. the thing that confused me is that it is working as expected in the second video.
