In Blender 2.9.1, the Sky texture node's "Height" attribute maxes out at 60km although the kerman line (the line used to define the end of the atmosphere and the beginning of space) is at 100km.

Based on the documentation and code this appears to be the case because the model only considers the first 60 km as stated in this article, which is linked on the manual page of the Sky Texture Node.
What defines this atmosphere is mainly its thickness and its composition (the different elements the atmosphere is made of). The earth atmosphere thickness is about 100 km (delimited by the Kármán line) and is made of oxygen, nitrogen, argon (a gas discovered by Rayleigh), carbon dioxide and water vapor. However in the simulation we will be using a thickness of 60km (we will only consider scattering in the first two layers of the Earth's atmosphere, the troposphere and the stratosphere).
