Outliner: when excluding collections from view over more than one nesting level state gets lost (plus fix)
Confirmed, NormalPublicBUG

Description

System Information
Operating system: Kubuntu 20.10
Graphics card: nvidia TU106 GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER

Blender Version
Broken: 2.82a - 2.91.0

Short description of error

See D9849: fix preserving user selected exclude-state of nested collections.
I understand there is a rewrite of some outliner parts under way?
NTL, fully local fix and allows using the checkboxes for mid-term workspace focus. In contrast to hiding for ad-hoc focus. I have been working with it since without problems.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Open attached file
  • turn off widget1 collection
  • toggle theme off and on again
  • turn on widget1

Notice that the collection exclude-state is gone.

I would like to work on this issue . Can you folks help me to get started ??

@Pratik Borhade (PratikPB2123) Don't know if you have seen the link to the patch above. That solves it for me, but I don't know whether it complies to the coding standards (was more like a long-time-no-C++ attempt of mine). Feel free to test it, improve it, carry it forward.
