Short description of error
In my file I can't create frames in newly created grease pencil objects.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Open attached .blend
Try to draw a stroke in the selected GP object and layer.
The message "no available frame for creating stroke" shows up
(pressing 'i' in the grease pencil timeline to create a frame seems to have no effect, no frame is created)

Event Timeline

Ah! thanks. I had seen this announcement but i overlooked it just now because I didn't have the timeline editor open.

Also, I have seen your example file has a very small thickness and an extreme zoom in. Try to zoom out and increase the thickness and you will get results.

Encountered the same.

Okay, it work so, but!
If I use GP for technical purposes (Bsurface retopology) it will be annoying to have different strokes on different frames.
Also, I set autokeying, Now i have few keys but do not see em.

On Vimeo I see how keys appears, but they don`t appear for me…
Bug? Should I report?

try opening a dope sheet editor with the grease pencil option selected. your keys should show up there.

the dope sheet editor's mode selected needs to be changed to 'Grease Pencil' https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/editors/dope_sheet/grease_pencil.html
