Blender does not open :( ( With missing files)
Closed, ArchivedPublic

Description

System Information
Operating system: WINDOWS 8 , build 9200
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 605

Blender Version
Broken: 2.92v
Worked: 2.8v (worked well before, but recently (early 2021), it no longer works ((as for version 2.92))

My problem is that since the beginning of 2021, whether for the most recent version or the old ones, Blender does not want to open anymore. I tried to uninstall and reinstall it several times but it doesn't work and I also followed tutorial on Youtube but it doesn't work either! Here is a video that shows the problem and I hope you could help me 😅

While blender it starting up it is trying to compile some shaders needed to operate, but your video driver does not support what is needed (a particular version of tex2Dgather() that accepts a tex2Dgather, vec2, and int).

The first thing I would do would be to make sure you have installed the latest drivers from the NVIDIA website.

Please try updating your GPU driver at NVIDIA’s website.

@Harley Acheson (harley) This reminds me that I’ve been meaning to look into adding the driver version information to the system-info.txt since it isn’t there for some reason.

@Harley Acheson (harley) I actually got the latest drivers! i try to make a update but i can't (because i have the latest drivers)
and i try with a old blender version but i cant.

here some proof (in french , beacause i have a french computer)

^^ It's mean "the best driver for your peripheral
it's already downloaded

^^ "Graphic card

NVIDIA GeForce 605"

Actually no, that is not proof that you have gone to nvidia's website and installed the newest version as specifically asked. If so, what version do you now have installed?

@Rayane (Pointlecarambar155) It is perfectly reasonable for you to see that message from Windows and think you would have the latest driver installed, because that is what the message says! 🤗

But the thing is, Windows has an issue. It (almost) always displays that message if you check for driver updates by going through that menu, even when you don’t have the latest driver.
