Short description of error
Fill tool results are inconsistent over different viewport pan and zoom settings. Can't reliably fill a shape the way i expect.

Video of example. The leftmost leg (the viewer's left, not the character's) is sometimes filled as expected, but most of the time the fill crosses the edge of the shape.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • open the attached blend
  • try this repeatedly: fill the leftmost leg, undo the fill, adjust panning and/or zooming of the viewport
  • the leg doesn't get filled in a consistent way, most of the time the fill is unusable.

This is a known issue with the current implementation. The fill tool works by grabbing the current frame buffer (basically) and then filling the pixel data of it and finally reprojecting the points of the stroke into 3d space. Ideally, this would work using booleans, but we don't have that yet.

ah thanks. i guess i'd gotten lucky before, didn't notice this difficulty.
