Graphics card: GeForce GTX 970/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 460.67

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.93.0 Beta, branch: master, commit date: 2021-04-26 22:01, hash: rB14b26fc97659
Worked: 2.92, and all other previous since 2.8, as far as I can remember.

Short description of error
The MTree node editor does not work. Nodes display empty. The console window shows an infinite loop.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Very simple to reproduce.
Open Blender with the defaults (from a console window).
Download and enable MTree addon for 2.8.
Open Modular Tree Editor window.
Add a Trunk node.
Note the empty node. Note the console window spitting out information. This stops if the MTree editor window is closed (it is not a hang).

I know MTree is not an officially supported addon, but it is very popular, and this problem needs to be understood. It is affecting other addons, as can be seen in T86225. My guess is this was caused by changes necessary for geometry nodes, but that is just a guess.

Event Timeline

Since the addon is not included with Blender, we do not provide support for it. The creator of the addon is responsible for updating it to the newest Blender version (if they choose to do so). We have no influence over it. You can try creating an issue on their Github page (https://github.com/MaximeHerpin/modular_tree/issues), although there seem to be already a few people with the same issue.
