Sounds like out of memory error.
Can you verify using task manager ?

Please attach your system-info.txt generated from the help menu of blender. Could be that your GPU cannot handle 16k textures. I assume that you're using eevee. Is that assumption correct.

It worked before, on 5f5cf21a833f build if im correct.

2,5GB out of 6GB gpu memory and 20GB out of 64 of RAM at render start, then crash...

After few more crashes it now renders correctly, something is clearly wrong, but what? No changes to the settings, file, model, or HDRI !?

Thanks for the report. This seems like a graphic driver issue. Please double-check if the drivers are up to date.

To upgrade to the latest driver, see here for more information: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/troubleshooting/gpu/index.html

Also try the latest daily build and run blender_debug-gpu.cmd that is included in the download.

After Blender closes (due the crash) the logs will be in a text file which can be attached here.

Most likely it will contain more information about the error.

No activity for more than a week. As per the tracker policy we assume the issue is gone and can be closed.

Thanks again for the report. If the problem persists please open a new report with the required information.
