Broken: version: 3.0.0 Alpha, branch: master, commit date: 2021-08-06 02:10, hash: rB99738fbfdc8b
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)
Short description of error
When trying to cut away polygons with delete, crash.
When trying to recalculate Normals on Faces in Alt-N menu selection, crash.
I was able to duplicate out some Faces from area I needed to trim up, then separated and no crash occurred, but crashed again when trying to reset/recalculte normals.
Very simple part, 4 rectangles, flat, I had cut a smaller rectangle out of their centers as they were too big. Nothing difficult. This was happening a few days ago. I am going to revert back to Aug 4th for now, will wait for Alpha for Aug 7th or 8th.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
4 long strip polygons. Cut them with knife to shorten them. Use Ring tool to cut a dual line through them longitudinally. You have now created thin inner rectangles in the core of the strips. Try to delete the outer rectangles from them, leaving the inner cores. Blender should then crash. Also if you try to recalculate the faces (Alt-N/Recalculate Normals) of left-overs after the cut (as they get odd shadows on them), then it should also crash.
[Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible)]
