Short description of error
I might be wrong here but I was under the impression that we're now able to create a mesh instance and be able to modify it with geometry nodes, without a mesh to modify preexisting, out of 'nothing' so to speak.
If I delete the default cube to have an empty project I can't add any nodes to i.e. instance a mesh and take it from there. Without a mesh the "+New" button above the node grid doesn't work. Nor do any of the options in the "Add" menu.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
- open new general project
- delete default cube
- switch to geometry nodes workspace
- check nodegrid workspace "+New" button and workspace menu entries for usability (ie Add) - all choices should be disabled so
If I delete the default cube to have an meshless project I can't add any nodes with the workspace menus to instance a mesh and take it from there. Without a mesh pre-existing (ie default cube) the "+New" button above the node grid doesn't work, nor do any of the options in the "Add" menu that could potentially instance a mesh out of nothing but nodes and store the node tree within its instance (and possibly a resulting new mesh line in the outliner for the instance), no?
