Short description of error
in heavy scenes I get this error when rendering using GPU

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
[Please describe the exact steps needed to reproduce the issue]
[Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible)]

I inevitably get this when using Blender at some point. Been having this issue since I started using Blender a couple of years ago, never got it resolved so trying my luck again. Problem persists on ALL versions. It happens when you have a heavy (? but not sure exactly what that means) scene and render with two GPUs. I discovered that this was the issue after googling the problem and finding that someone else had it. I tried many work-arounds but once I disabled one card it rendered.

Here's the issue mentioned above: https://blender.stackexchange.com/questions/211696/cuda-problem-error-invalid-value-in-cumemcpy2dunalignedparam

Here's an example error message:

I don't have the hardware to reproduce this. But can you check you have the latest drivers from Nvidea? Sometimes issues are caused by out-dated drivers.
You can also try testing on a more recent Blender version where Cycles had a good refactor.

From what I have read in D2056, I don't see any limitation of multi-GPU setup mentioned. @Brecht Van Lommel (brecht) Do you have any means to test this?

Just FIY, I did not request sample .blend file since I assume it would depend on used hardware.

There were bugfixes related to this, for example rB336ca6796a7a: Fix T90308: Cycles crash copying memory from device to host.

To investigate this we really need it to be confirmed on a more recent Blender version + an example .blend.
