Short description of error
I have two leg bones, Right Leg and Left Leg. Currently for some reasons the Left leg is weight painted to the right side of the mesh, and the Right Leg is weight painted the the left side of the mesh. I've tried multiple things, Deleted Right Leg vertex group > made a copy of the left leg vertex group > renamed the Left Leg copy to Right leg > Flipped the weight paint on the left leg. What does this result : The left leg is now on the correct side however the right leg is still weight painted to the left side of the mesh.
Another thing i've tried is Mirroring the vertexs on Right leg bone, which works correctly however once i try to do it again for the left leg, it flips the weight paint correctly for the left leg and then fucks up the right leg. Lastly i've tried just renaming left leg to right leg and right leg to left leg however the mesh just turn pink and doesn't accept it at all.

Also the toggle X-ray doesnt work for weight painting on meshes and makes life very difficult

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Try Flipping weight paint on bones or renaming them on any avatar mesh with two legs.
[Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible)]

This would make the bug much easier to reproduce.
