Short description of error
Following todays build to fix Blender crash when entering Shader Editor...
When going to solid mode in the Shader Editor this will trigger all other viewports in all workspaces to turn black.

Using a pull down to change active windows in the Layout workspace to a Shader editor will NOT trigger the black viewport.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Open Blender
Go to Viewport Shader
Change to Solid Mode
Viewport in all workspaces turn black

Thanks for the report.
I don't have similar system to test but there is other similar report so I will merge in that one: T95052: 3DViewport is missing overlay.
But Of course feel free to comment or reopen if you find issue is not the same as T95052
