This is useful for a faster workflow until the old hair system can be fully replaced.

I cannot convert anymore after a few iterations:

I'm not entirely sure how you got into this situation yet. It seems like snapping the curves back to the surface and then converting it to a particle system works as expected.

Maybe the attachment attributes are not propagated correctly when curves are deleted. Will check that.

@Jacques Lucke (JacquesLucke) I managed to reproduce very easily:

  1. Add Cube
  2. Add Random Hair
  3. Set Surface
  4. Snap Curve to Surface
  5. Delete a few hairs
  6. Convert to Particles

There are some hair patches that are still not deleted in the converted particles.

Now if I skip the Snap Curve to Surface step, I can't even convert to Particles (it shows no error, but also no particle is created).
