1. Create a "Dezier Circle" object.
2. Set a fairly small size, for example 20x20 mm
3. Set the curve type as "2d"
4. Set a fill type other than "None" - for example "back"
5. Use the command View -> Frame Selected

The view will not be zoomed to the curve but only centered
