Closed, ArchivedPublic

Description

System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19043-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 511.65

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.1.2, branch: master, commit date: 2022-03-31 17:40, hash: rBcc66d1020c3b
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
I have 30 frames per second. And when I zoom in grid update not properly, like for me... It's not comfortable. I don't know... It's bug or not)

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • In any of the time editors (Timeline, Dope Sheet, Action...), got to View and enable Show Seconds

Event Timeline

Well, that doesn't look like a bug.
While in frame only the ranges that vary with zoom are [1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50...], in view that shows seconds they are [1, 2, 4, 8, 16, ..., fps, 2*fps, 4*fps ...].
I believe what you would like to see would be something like: [1, ..., fps/8, fps/4, fps/2, fps, 2*fps, 4*fps, ...] or [1, 2, 5, 10, 20, ..., fps, 2*fps, 4*fps ...].

While it may look prettier in some cases, it may not work well with different fps values and it's not really a bug.

So thanks for the report, but the issue reported here is a request for modified/improved behavior and not a bug in current behavior. Closing as this bug tracker is only for bugs and errors.
