Event Timeline

Hi there,
I don't know why but my scene can't render anymore. I tried to copy paste everything into an other blend file, limit the textures size, even delete collection but nothing changes.
I hope there is more precision into the crash log files :(
Due to Nda I can't share the blend file but I tried to open it with an older version of blender again, nothing changed. (also tried a cpu render)

Thanks a lot for your help!

It seems that the crash is related to the loading of an image file. Could you please check if you can identify which images this is and whether you can recreate the crash with an image that is not under NDA?

Robert Guetzkow (rjg) changed the task status from Needs Triage to Needs Information from User.May 15 2022, 10:11 PM

Hi Robert thanks a lot,

I have 99+ images in my file, any chance there is an image name in the crash log?
Btw the entire blend file is under nda sadly...

Thanks again for your help!

The crash log does not indicate which image file resulted in the crash.

Argh, sadly for me...
after some time I isolated the collection that causes the pb. Still searching for that image.
Thanks for the tip Robert, if I can't find it I'll simply redo that part of the work.

I found the F*%^¨ texture! It was a normal map. I uploaded the file and let inside the textures.
Now blender can render (certainly because the texture isn't applied anywhere) but whenever I enter in the image editor and press the first letter of the problematic texture ("w") blender crashes instantly.
Hope it gonna help.

It's good to hear that you were able to identify the problematic image. Were you able to recreate this with other normal maps that you would be able to share? We need an actual file to test this with in order to fix the underlying issue.

@PIerre Lazarevic (Petaralazara) Just checking, were you able to reproduce this with another normal map that you can share with us? Without the texture we cannot identify the cause.

Issue is possibly the same as in T94858

Issue is possibly the same as in T94858

Unsure if they are same. Stack trace is identical at least.
@PIerre Lazarevic (Petaralazara) hi, we need a simple .blend file or exact steps for the recreation of crash (as @Robert Guetzkow (rjg) said).
Over a week already without any reply from bug reporter. Closing this ticket according to trackers policy.
