View Shading - Color Type: Texture doesn't respect shader transformations ex. UV transformations

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
1.add texture to a cube

  1. change View Shading - Color Type: to Texture

3.change UV coordinates Scale
4.nothing change, if you switch to material or render view it changes normally but not in solid shading mode

Thank you for the report.

You are correct that Solid mode doesn’t change with shader node tree changes. That is because Solid mode is using the Workbench render engine, which doesn’t use material node trees.

The Workbench engine does not work with shader trees.

As you aren’t the first person to report this as a bug, I’ll add a note to the documentation to clarify this.

I also think the tool-tip could be changed from:

Show texture

to

Show texture using the active UV map coordinates.
