@Campbell Barton (campbellbarton): I just added them via automatic weights. The mesh I made myself using mirror modifier as well as snap to symmetry and symmetrize at some points to try various stuff out.

I looked at your file and at first glance it seems to be correct

Relevent to this task:
It maybe could be useful if you saved the scroll position to individual tabs,but even then with pinned panels and such it seems very hard to get right...

I tested what I believe is the current version of the vertical tabs
