I am using the official release of Blender 2.81 and also see objects disappear. By randomly clicking on other objects and transitioning in and out of edit/pose mode the objects do reappear but it is annoying.

This was not enabled. Here are the settings I have been using:
I left it open last night with a simple project using no armatures and it did not crash this morning. Here is a recent .blend file that crashes every time I come out of sleep mode.

John Cummings (DesertG) added a comment to T59018: When left select is set in preferences, the loop select does not work with the left mouse button.
I have this issue on a Mac. Deselecting 'Emulate three button mouse' does make loop select work but now I can no longer use Option+Mouse to pan around. I can use the widget in the upper right corner, but it would be nice if it worked like 2.79
