In Object mode and Pose mode Ctrl+Tab switches between the two.
Tab switches to Edit mode and back to whichever you previously where at.
But while in Edit mode Ctrl+Tab brings up the Pie Menu, allowing you to change mode the same way you can in all/most other places of Blender.
