Since Blender 2.93 (release notes) it is possible to alt-click and get a drop-down of available bones (just like alt-click to select objects). Would that be a good enough resolution for this issue? Or should the depth picking still be improved?

This is a problem with old video card drivers, I have radeon 6670 and also crush when I use Mask or Facesets with the Multiresolution modifier in sculpt mode. The problem is both on version 2.83. * And on 2.90, 2.91
