Anyway, we have planned to do a redesign of the blend modes in 2.81 (T66293), so I'm going to take a note to review if it's possible to have this "no-overlap" as an option and make easy this type of shadows.

I imagine it would be useful to have a way to merge all those areas together automatically rather than doubling up shadows. But if existing functionality is supposed to be able to do that I don't know. If not then close as not a bug.

The FX are working in Screen Space, so any change in the viewport or camera angle will change the final result. Really, FX will work as compositor using the final render/viewport image and apply a filter on it. If you chnage image, you get different result.

I don't think we can do more here, because in future releases this will be replaced by new compositing features, but now all is pending of design.

Complained about the same thing to the blender.chat #ui yesterday.

If you have more than 1 grease pencils, sooner or later a layer's onion skin, other than your active(working on) grease pencil will end up in the way.
You have to go to object mode -> select the other object(GP)->go to properties-> layers -> turn off onion skinning -> go to object mode ->select your work grease pencil again-> go t draw mode and get back to work.

As I said in the chat....I might be the odd person...but it's too many steps to turn a toggle on and off. Especially when it's an often used toggle.

I think I figured it out.
I understand how it works now;Just tried it; I had to convert the Grease Pencil to Polygon Curves first, then convert that new Polygon Curve object to Mesh.

Yeah I've tried that a couple times too. But all I get them converted to are paths/curves
