I am also having a similar issue. I am running on a I3-1005G1 with should be capable of running Blender fine. However, anything past 2.8 and now 2.9 works fine on the first few tries opening blender. After that, 20 seconds or a minute in it freezes.
I know Blender doesn't like Intel iGPUs very much.
Blender also doesn't get a prompt to close it, rather I have to close it in Task Manager for it to close.
