After more testing I have discovered it's something related with my custom input configuration! weird stuff... I still have no idea why it's happening but if I set the input scheme to any of the default presets it works flawlessly.

Yes, I also think switching the 2 columns could be even better.
Well, I hope in the near future you have the ability to change the layouts manually, it would be a really nice UI improvement.
