Sorry, my mistake, it's only GCN 1.0.
So, am I correct in thinking you've removed support for GCN 1.0?
There's no mention not being backward compatible in the release notes for 2.79...? If my above assumption is correct, maybe that should be added.
Hi LazyDodo,
The FirePro does have GCN, see here https://www.amd.com/Documents/2795_W5000_DataSheet_R3.pdf
OpenCL has been working with my pair of pitcairn W5000s for many versions of Blender so far...

Using the latest standard build, 5fe9b36 gives lots of hopeful text before it crashes:
Also, here's the report from the latest Gooseberry build:
I just installed the latest driver; I believe I went from Catalyst 14.12 to 15.7.1. The problem still exists.

Using the Gooseberry version (Hash e96e452) it tried to load the kernels but instantly reports an error: OpenCL build failed: errors in console.

Latest drivers installed and same issue occurs.

Sorry, did not set Device to GPU Compute in the Render section of the Scene. When I do enable a simple scene render crashes. blender-app.exe continues to increase in RAM, to around 1.6GB, and then everything just disappears.
