A while back I opened up a task under this link https://developer.blender.org/T45368 that allowed the FBX export to contain the root of the armature in the first bone rather than in the entire rig. Bastien did a fantastic job coding this feature into the fbx export options and I have found this to be extremely useful!

The issue I have now, that I didn’t catch earlier, is that for some reason the fbx “importer” must have gotten broken in the process. It imports objects fine, but when a rig is importer the mesh scales very differently to the rig. I also attached a picture of what it should look like

Blender 2.76b fbx importer works great but when I try to replace the importer with Blender's official fbx importer, I get this error (picture attached below). I was wondering if there is a way to great the offical importer working with the fix? At the moment i am just running two Blender's (one to import, one to export).

Also, I am curious if there is any plan to include this feature into the official Blender? I think it could be really great for people dealing with root motion in games.
