**System Information**
Operating system: Darwin-18.7.0-x86_64-i386-64bit 64 Bits
**Blender Version**
Broken: version: 2.83 (sub 11), branch: master, commit date: 2020-04-03 00:24, hash: `rB6f4dbb661f10`
**Short description of error**
- Inserted a movie clip
- Select both audio and video, perform cut using knife tool (K)
- Move (G) the second half of the video/audio to the right, to leave a gap
- Insert a color (Black) strip on top
- Select Color strip first, hold down Shift, select the video strip of the RIGHT part, notice the last strip selected is boxed with WHITE edge,
- Add->Transition->Cross
- Scan the playhead through and you got the right FADE OUT
- Now do the same for the LEFT part, but select the video first, Shift, select the color strip.
- Add->Transition->Cross
- This time you DO NOT get the FADE IN, still FADE OUT. According to this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnocQWHFUDo), you should get a FADE IN from video to the BLACK COLOR strip.
Further question:
The tooltips for the field 'Duration' says:
```
The length of the contents of this strip after the handles are applied
```
What the world ** 'handles' ** here means exactly? Are you referring to the handles on both sides of the strip where you can hold down to drag? Or the handling routines in the code?
Here is my screen capture, notice the color ORANGE and WHITE boxed the edge of the clips showing the order of selections made. This is taken just after adding the cross transition for the LEFT side.
