**System Information**
Operating system: Linux-6.0.6-76060006-generic-x86_64-with-glibc2.35 64 Bits
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 515.65.01
**Blender Version**
Broken: version: 3.4.0, branch: blender-v3.4-release, commit date: 2022-12-06 18:46, hash: `rBa95bf1ac01be` (as well as Dec. 12th daily build of 3.4 and 3.5 alpha)
Worked: 3.3.1
**Short description of error**
When rendering an OpenEXR (multi- or single-layer) or JPEG image sequence in Cycles, Blender hangs after a random number of frames. Seems to render PNG image sequences without issue.
**Exact steps for others to reproduce the error**
1. Open the attached blend file.
2. Press CTRL+F12.
3. Wait for Blender to freeze. It might be three frames into the sequence or it might be 90 frames in
Based on the attached .blend file. Also attached is output of "$ ./Applications/blender-3.4.0-linux-x64/blender --verbose 3 > /Shared/Projects/Blends/Bug\ Reporting/3.4EXRimageseq.txt"
(It is worth noting that, in the last week or so, I have noticed similar behavior from Natron when compositing images into an EXR sequence. Natron doesn't hang but the render job just pauses indefinitely.)
