Hi
I created an idea for an add-on. It's not a regular add-on, since it doesn't perform any action on a 3D scene, object, ... Did I got your attention? Nice, please read below :-)
This add-on called "DreamSoft's Blender Free Add-ons" (name can be changed!) wants to present the Blender user with a list of very usable free add-ons. It serves as a sort of Blender add-on repository with add-on categories. Each category for example Animation, Simulation/Physics, Modeling, ... contains one or more buttons (one button for each add-on).
If the user clicks a button, a webbrowser is opened and the add-on's official website (or github page, ...) is opened. In this way it's very easy to locate the add-on online and download it. All with 1 click of a button inside Blender.
Attached is source code and a screenshot with explanation.
I think the reasons it should be included with Blender are:
- new Blender users are often have difficulties finding free add-ons. My add-on presents a repository in different categories. 1 mouse click away
- when new free add-ons are developed, the repository is updated. So this add-on always has an up-to-date list of what's currently available
- this add-on makes discovering the most usefull free add-ons a breeze. No need to google or to search on 3rd party add-ons websites and filter out the commercial add-ons
PS: I have no website where the add-on is publicly available since I use it personally. This is a very early idea. No docs are made.
If it's rejected for inclusion in Blender, I will continue to develop it for personal use and it won't be made public.{F12738234}

Thank you in advance!
