**Short description of error**
I've set up a very simple model where I'm attempting to paint over a section of the model that has no overlapping UVs.
The brush is a solid color. The main artifact is black, but if you keep painting you can sometimes reduce the artifact to a disparate but consistent black pixel (until you change the MVP and the artifact moves or is obscured by the same color) Video and screenshot:

The target texture is a simple RGBA texture.
Painting alpha doesn't seem to introduce the artifacts you see with Mix & color.
This occurs reliably even when I close/re-open blender.
The shape of the artifact seems to have no relationship to the aspect ratio of the viewport when.
The position of the artifact stays the same between colors until the model-view-projection matrix changes (if i translate the camera in any way).
The shape of the artifact is projected forward onto the surface, so if I paint at an acute angle, the square-shape looks square from the angle I'm painting from, but naturally looks distorted & projected when viewed along the surface's normal.
**Exact steps for others to reproduce the error**
In the attached blend file, paint a new solid color with the brush in "mix mode" in "texture paint" mode on the main hut-like mesh on the scene, one of the sides of the hut (the one showing the artifact) has a generous UV-space, mapped to a low res (256x256, filter mode "nearest") texture.
