**System Information**
Linux, NVIDIA
**Blender Version**
Broken: 2.74 RC2 (and 2.73a)
Worked: Never, as far as I can remember (I think I reported this during Sintel)
When rendering out a preview range of a long animation shot with audio, Blender renders the frames fine, but appends the full duration of audio, rather than the trimmed preview range, resulting in a video file of incorrect duration and out of sync audio.
This makes it extremely difficult to work on long shots with lip sync.
**Exact steps for others to reproduce the error**
- In a fresh Blender scene, add some animation to the default cube
- Add an audio clip to the sequencer, for example 10s of sound.
- Define a preview range of 5s.
- Do a GL render of a Quicktime with audio. (I use H.264/AAC, but other codec combos produced the same result)
The result will be a 10s file consisting of 5s of video, and 10s of sound.
